On Tuesday, July 16, I am joining in the Tour de Simcha ride to benefit the children of Chai Lifeline. This years ride, besides being my first (and hopefully I will finish!), is especially meaningful as our team - Team Evan - is raising money in memory of the boy who left an indelible impression on all those that knew him.
It's so fitting that we are riding into Camp Simcha in Evan's name. Evan was full of laughter and had an amazing smile. And at Camp Simcha--there's nothing but smiles. Every dollar we raise will go to The Evan Levy Fund, a division of Chai Lifeline.
The ride won't be easy; neither is life for a child with cancer or other serious illness. Camp Simcha and its sister camp, Camp Simcha Special, are Chai Lifeline’s flagship programs. Every year these two camps offer 430 children a chance to forget about illness and just be kids again. To learn more about Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha special, visit campsimcha.org.
