In less than 2 weeks.... July 16th will be a meaningful day for 2 reasons: I plan on biking 100 miles (yikes) from Central New Jersey through Upstate NY (in the Catskill Mountains) to support kids suffering from pediatric illness. This is no ordinary cycling event; it’s an exhilarating ride ending at Camp Simcha, a remarkable overnight camp that provides seriously ill children with a vacation from sickness, restoring their spirits and renewing their determination to fight.

This year, I will be riding in Memory of Lori Gilbert-Kaye who was killed attending Shabbat services at Chabad of Poway, California. Lori believed in the mission of Chai Lifeline, taking the lead from her sister Randi who is the west coast Director of Chai Lifeline. I know Lori's family appreciates the effort that we are making to ride a grueling 100-mile mountainous ride in her memory.

The ride won't be easy; neither is life for a child with cancer or other serious illness. Every year Camp Simcha offer 430 children a chance to forget about illness and just be kids again. To learn more about Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha special, visit campsimcha.org.
